Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Repair Shop is heated & Air conditioned.
What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
10 technicians, soon to be more when we mor to our New Location soon. Hopefully in about a year.
What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
8am--5pm Monday--Friday you can come in an hour earlier and work an hour later if you like. Currently 8am--1pm Saturday alternating shift schedule.
What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
OEM special tools mandated by Audi & VW Otherwise most every day tools will be of your own.
What type of break room facility is provided?
Good size can handle all the techs.
How many bays does your shop have?
10 2post lifts and one alignment machine,
How many repair orders do you average per month?
525 plus
What is your parts ordering process?
Parts ordered daily. 1pm cut off for next day. Will run and chase within hrs. if necessary. Most parts available next day from NJ warehouse .
What is your policy on side work?
Yours and your direct family.
Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
OEM Audi VW training
Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
You can move up or over to service advisor, parts advisor, sales person, management.
Can you describe your performance review process?
I like to stay in the loop with daily communications. Team meetings. Yearly individual review.
What type of safety training is required?
Lift/hoist operations.
Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Apprentice's will work closely with shop Forman. My team will be available for new personal.
How does your shop get involved with the local community?
Donations. We gave money to local Tech School. Diamond Tech. Fundraisers.
Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We are always working with local tech school to encourage students into this profession.
Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Not necessarily, We don't screen, we accepts all form of communication.
What do your in-person interviews entail?
Friendly conversation about us and the candidate, walk threw and around the company especially the shop area.
Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
We have a good process with our corporate HR department for background checks, drug screening. Personality interactions will be a part of the in person interview.
Do you perform a skill assessment before hiring an applicant? If yes, what does it entail?
Not at this time.
After an in-person interview, approximately how long should I expect to wait for a rejection or an offer?
If we have an actual opening wait period should be within a few or several days. This would be articulated at in person interview.
Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
I have hired people on the spot and had them working with in couple days. Other times its taken a couple weeks. Each case is different.
