What is your parts ordering process?

in our shop, technicians diagnose a car or have an upsell to recommend. The tech quotes the parts with our parts department, then presents to the advisor. Once the advisor gets approval they follow our SOP process for parts. We do use video MPI's so a tech has the ability to communicate a cars needs directly to a customer.

What is your policy on side work?

We allow tech use of the shop when we are closed for his or close friends and families vehicles. We do not allow the use of the shop for side work. Side work done at home we cannot control, so it is rarely an issue unless it is taking away active customers.

We are always interested in experienced techs, we also hire and grow young techs. We do mentor/mentee programs for green techs so they can learn and grow in an inviting environment.

As an employee here, you can go anywhere you want to as long as your skill set takes you there. We highly encourage you to let us know your goals. We are eager to help make them reality.

Can you describe your performance review process?

We don't use a formal review process. We speak with staff one on one about performance, both good and bad. We love to share employee victories and will council privately when needed. Pay increases happen based on merit and happen on their own. Reviews aren't always a good thing.

What type of safety training is required?

We do annual training with an outside safety trainer to make sure everyone is making good safety decisions. We have a safety officer in house that councils' employees on unsafe behavior directly. We believe in a safe work environment and offer any and all PPE needed by employees without hesitation.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?

We utilize a formal mentor/mentee program for new techs. They are assigned to a A level master that is tasked with making sure they are learning, working in a safe environment and have a safety net, as needed. This has been very effective in getting new hires up to speed and comfortable with the work environment.
