Position Overview: As a Lube Technician, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and care of our customers' vehicles. You will be responsible for performing oil changes, tire rotations, and other basic vehicle maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to delivering high-quality service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Inspect and replace cabin and engine air filters.
- Inspect and replace windshield wiper blades.
- Perform battery testing, replacement, and maintenance.
- Check and adjust tire pressure.
- Perform light bulb replacements for headlights, taillights, and interior lights.
- Top off and flush various fluids, including coolant, brake, and windshield washer fluids.
- Conduct visual inspections of brakes, belts, and hoses for wear or damage.
- Use basic diagnostic tools to identify potential issues (e.g., check engine light scans).
- Document and report any potential issues requiring further attention.
- Assist in creating repair orders or cost estimates with service advisors.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working order.
- Keep the shop and bay area clean and organized.
- Dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., used oil and filters) in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Restock supplies, such as oil filters, wiper blades, and fluids.
- Explain basic maintenance procedures to customers if needed.
- Assist customers with vehicle questions or concerns when directed by the service advisor.
- Provide a friendly, professional experience that promotes repeat business.
- Assist other technicians with tasks during busy periods.
- Participate in team training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
- Support the service team by test-driving vehicles when necessary to confirm repairs or maintenance work.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Lube Technician or similar role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Ability to operate standard automotive service equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Good driving record for at least the last three years.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Age 21 or older.
Education and Certification:
- Relevant technical or vocational training is a plus.
- ASE or similar certification is a bonus.
