Lube Technician

SUMMARY: 

  • Quick Lane Technicians are responsible for performing basic maintenance and simple repairs on customer vehicles. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Performs maintenance on customer vehicles 
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards 
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refills with required amount of oil 
  • Replace oil and air filters •Inspect vehicle fluid levels, replaces or replenishes as necessary 
  • Check tire pressure 
  • Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants 
  • Rotate and balance tires 
  • Document all work performed on the repair order 
  • Maintain accountability for all dealership-owned tools and manuals—returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received 
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to Manager 
  • Keep shop area neat and clean 
  • Recommend additional services and other needed repairs Maintains knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair 
  • Participate in training programs as assigned by the Service Manager 
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins 
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean—notify a service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle 
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. 
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner •Report any safety issues immediately to management

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Some automotive experience required 
  • 1 year of experience preferred Education / Certifications 
  • High School Diploma or GED, required Certifications / Licensures 
  • Valid Driver’s License, Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record as outlined by company policy
