Service Technician - Class A/Master Tech

**Job Title:** Class A Auto Technician

**Job Summary:**


As a Class A Auto Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will utilize advanced technical skills and knowledge to perform complex mechanical and electrical repairs, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities:**


- **Diagnostic Skills:** Utilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify vehicle issues and develop effective repair strategies.


- **Repair and Maintenance:** Perform complex repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of vehicles, including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical components.


- **Preventive Maintenance:** Conduct routine preventive maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.


- **Technical Proficiency:** Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, tools, and repair techniques to maintain high-quality service standards.


- **Documentation:** Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used. Complete work orders and service reports.


- **Quality Control:** Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure vehicles meet or exceed safety and performance standards.


- **Customer Interaction:** Communicate effectively with customers to explain vehicle issues, necessary repairs, and estimated costs. Provide excellent customer service and address any concerns.


- **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with other technicians, service advisors, and parts personnel to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.


- **Safety Compliance:** Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.


- **Training and Development:** Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

**Qualifications:**


- **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal automotive technology program preferred.
- **Certification:** ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification required. Manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with a strong background in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems.
- **Technical Skills:** Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software, mechanical and electrical repair techniques, and automotive systems.
- **Problem-Solving:** Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
- **Attention to Detail:** High level of attention to detail to ensure thorough and accurate repairs.
- **Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interaction and documentation.
- **Physical Requirements:** Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.

**Working Conditions:**


- **Environment:** Work is performed in a well-lit, ventilated, and climate-controlled automotive repair shop.
- **Schedule:** Full-time position with typical work hours. Overtime may be required based on workload.
