Job Overview:
Audi Pittsfield is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you will be the primary point of contact between customers and the service department. You will ensure smooth communication regarding vehicle services, manage service appointments, and provide an exceptional customer experience. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers as they arrive, listen to their service needs, and gather necessary information regarding their vehicles.
- Service Recommendations: Advise customers on necessary and recommended maintenance and repairs, using knowledge of Audi vehicles and industry standards.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule service appointments, ensuring timely and efficient use of the service department’s resources.
- Estimate Creation: Create and present accurate cost estimates for service work, providing clear explanations of labor and parts charges.
- Work Orders: Open and maintain detailed work orders, ensuring all customer concerns are documented and addressed.
- Communication: Serve as the liaison between the customer and the technicians, keeping the customer informed about the progress of their vehicle’s service.
- Issue Resolution: Handle any customer concerns or complaints in a professional and courteous manner, striving to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Follow-Up: Ensure timely follow-up with customers after service completion to confirm satisfaction and encourage future business.
- Parts Coordination: Work with the parts department to ensure the timely availability of necessary parts.
- Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of customer interactions, service orders, and invoices in the system.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a service writer or customer service role in the automotive industry preferred, especially with luxury or high-performance vehicles like Audi.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of automotive service and maintenance processes, particularly for Audi vehicles, or willingness to learn.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to customers in an understandable way.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with a focus on providing a positive experience for every customer.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple service requests at once.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with service software and systems used in automotive repair departments.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, parts personnel, and management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional automotive training or certifications are a plus.
