Student Tech / Apprentice

Summary of Position
Brooks Tractor takes pride in partnering with many of the most reputable technical schools and colleges in Wisconsin that prepare students for careers in diesel, heavy equipment mechanics and technology for the agriculture, construction and mining industries. Our internship program is designed to give you hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing a wide variety of equipment while learning from some of the best senior technicians in the industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop real-world mechanical skills by working with John Deere Capstone level technicians
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel construction equipment in a shop environment
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
- Performs assigned job functions under close supervision of a Supervisor or designated competent fellow employee
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area and properly handles company tools and equipment
Educations, Skills, and/or Experience Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics, construction and/or agricultural equipment mechanics or related study
- Maintain good grades
- Receive positive recommendations from instructors
- Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
Physical Requirements
Push/pull up to 80 lbs, Lift/carry up to 80 lbs, Lift bulky objects, Neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box. Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
