Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Receives direction and supervision from the Service Department Foreman. Work will be performed primarily on Peterbilt vehicles. Receives job assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. Interacts with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives and customers. Provides mentorship to less-skilled technicians. Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as EPA, OSHA, and DOT. Work in a safe manner at all times. Report any safety issues to management immediately. Ensure that vehicle is kept clean. Report to department management immediately anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle. Keep shop area neat and clean. EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent required Graduation from an accredited technical school (minimum two year program), equivalent military training with emphasis on diesel engines, or previous equivalent experience is required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
