 Farm Machinery Technician

Position Overview:

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing various types of agricultural equipment and machinery to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. This position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to ensuring that equipment is operating at peak efficiency to support our agriculture and light construction customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with farm machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and equipment lubrication.
• Conduct safety inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify faults and determine the best course of action for repairs.
• Keep detailed records of all repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used.
• Assist with setup, testing, and calibration of new machinery and equipment.
• Stay informed on new equipment technologies and repair techniques.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Experience in mechanical repair and maintenance, preferably with agricultural or heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic computer skills for troubleshooting modern farm machinery software.
• Experience operating farm machinery. 
• General knowledge of precision farming tools (GPS, auto-steer systems, etc.)
